Hydrant Flushing Press Release
The Edison Water Utility announces that the spring fire hydrant flushing program will begin on Monday March 30, 2020 on Orosz Boulevard the northern part of the utility’s coverage area and proceed to the southern end of the coverage area at Meadow Road. The flushing program will take place Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 3:00pm. It is necessary for proper maintenance of our water distribution system and this procedure provides an opportunity to test and evaluate the condition of the utilities fire hydrants. In addition this will also help to remove sediment that has accumulated in the water mains.
Residents are urged to check that their water is running clear before starting any laundry during this time, if water is still discolored after 3:00 pm, please run cold water only until clear. Daily updates on the areas that will be flushed will be updated on the water utility’s web page (web address) by 3:30 pm the day prior to flushing.
