The Edison Water Utility was out of compliance with state regulations and received a “Notice of Non-Compliance” from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The utility was non-compliant due to a “miscommunication within our contracted laboratory, during the set-up” of our sampling schedule with our new certified laboratory, Eurofins, QC. Edison Township is required to take 40 coliform samples per month and only 30 were taken by Eurofins, QC during the month of January. There were no issues with our water supply what so ever, and all results came back negative for the presence of coliforms. For more detailed information, please see the attached documents.
