Notice of Hydrant Flushing Program
Mayor Sam Joshi, the Edison Township council and Bob Smith, Director of the Edison Water and Sewer Utility, announce, that the spring fire hydrant flushing program will begin on Monday March 18, 2024. The flushing program will take place Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. It is necessary for proper maintenance of our water distribution system and this procedure provides an opportunity to test and evaluate the condition of the utilities fire hydrants. In addition, this will also help to remove sediment that has accumulated in the water mains. Hydrant Flushing will begin in the areas of Michelle Cir and Move south towards Meadow Rd. Residents are urged to check that their water is running clear before starting any laundry during this time. If your water is still discolored after 3:00 pm, please run cold water only until clear. Residents within or near the scheduled flushing area may encounter pressure fluctuations. Daily updates on the areas that will be flushed will be updated via nixel the morning of.
